Restaurant manager
The restaurant manager is assuming first-level managing activities in his unit. He plan, organize, run, control and evaluate the operational functioning of the restaurant in regard of the standards established by the head office. The restaurant manager is assuming first-level managing activities in his unit. He plan, organize, run, control and evaluate the operational functioning of the restaurant in regard of the standards established by the head office. He insures a high-degree satisfaction of its customers and its employees. He also insures the optimization of the restaurant profitability. The manager has to be ready to work on flexible hours, normally during day and evening, but sometimes by night, depending on the sector in which his restaurant is located.
The restaurant manager gets a participation in the year-round profits of his unit, according to a bonus system based on the obtained results.
The manager’s working schedule is 50 hours per week, normally based on a five (5) day stretch. Owning a car is a major asset because the manager may have to go to a unit who is difficult to reach by public transportation.
The restaurant manager position is a good career opportunity to reach, on a longer term basis, a supervisor position.
